PUERTO RICO

I went to Puerto Rico with Cyndi and her family for Christmas.  Here is the breakdown:

Day 1:

Morning:  Snorkling in the ocean with new gear.  We couldn’t see much, but I learned how to dive.  Man, you can fly under water with flippers on.

Afternoon:  We went to El Yuonque rain forest.  We hiked to a waterfall and also went to this tower where you could see all of the neighboring islands.

Night:  We went to a Casino and I played blackjack.  I lost money, but I enjoyed it anyways.

Day 2:

Morning:  Jon (Cyndi’s Cousin) and I went to Chi Chi Rodriques’ golf course, El Legado (The Legend).  Cyndi, Cyndi’s Mom, Jon and I were in the car because Cyndi’s mom had to drive.  (Cyndi’s dad had a migraine)  We had trouble finding the place and didn’t have their number.  We had been driving for a couple hours through the mountains on one-way roads and Cyndi had been asking people in Spanish for directions to it with no real success.

So, Jon called his family to get directions.  His little brother answered the phone and yelled at him for not choosing the right free game for his new Xbox 360 then hung up.  On his second call, his mom couldn’t figure out how to search for it on the computer.  One example: she typed in ellegado (one word.)

I broke down and called my mom (in all her computer wisdom).  Luckily, my brother in law was there.  He looked up the phone number in 2 minutes and we were at the golf course 15 minutes later.

At the golf course, (the best on the island, and the cheapest because Chi Chi is the man.)  we met the Legend, and got our hats signed and our pictures with him.  The course was incredible.  Palm trees circled every green and you could see the ocean and the mountains the entire time.  Jon and I shared our rental clubs and used a driver/iron hybrid for our second shots.  We were hitting the crap out of the ball.  Jon hit a few 300+ drives.  I’m not joking.  We ruled the fairway, but the greens were impossible.  I got on the green on a par 5 in two hits, and still bogeyed the hole.

            Evening:

We went to see the bioluminescent bay.  The water glows blue as you swim in it.  Words cannot describe the coolness of this bay.  We took the boat tour and the guy pointed out the Iguanas in the trees above us as we went up the creek to the bay.  This was cooler than golf.  I just can’t put it into words.

Day 3:

            Morning:

We went boogie boarding on the beach outside our condo unit.  (Don’t laugh these waves were freakin’ huge!)  They were surfing waves.

            Afternoon:

            Flight Home

            Evening:

3 hour drive from Charlotte to Charleston.

Well, that’s the whole trip.

Sincerely,

Lawtonious Funk

That trip sounds kick ass. I had been checking blogs but didn't realize you had reactivated recently.
