So,
I was window shopping for a house at work just to see how much money Cyndi and I will need to save for the next few years. (My curiosity has been peaked by Brad and my sister's new purchases.) Any kind of upgrade puts us in the 200-250K range, which is actually possible considering we'll be able to sell the condo and put a down a good down payment. Anyway, I've been looking at all of these one story, tiny, ugly houses in Mt. Pleasant, or gorgeous ones in Summerville 1 hour from work . Cyndi has to be 15 minutes from the hospital, and I'm not moving into a smaller building than the condo just to own a house. Finally, I see this one: (look at the link prior to reading below)

it's 2300 sq ft. for $225K and has 4 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, beach access, a boat ramp, swimming pool, and 1.55 acres of land. It's beautiful even has the cool front stairs Cyndi and I love.
So, I used mapquest to see how far away from work it was. Mapquest comes back with a note saying that they don't know how to map it. It's on Dewees Island. The only way on/off the island is by boat or ferry. Now, I do have a boat. If I saw a ferry schedule that left at 6 am and would return at 6pm, I would go for it. That place is a paradise. Anyway, just wanted to share the moment. There's always a catch. This one happens to be an island. A paradise island, but still, an island.

Now, I found out that the Ferry takes 20minutes and leaves at 7. I have to be at work by 730. So, that wouldn't work. What I would have to do is use the boat, but then cyndi would end up waiting of a Ferry while some kid was dying. So, we'd have to sell the boat and buy 2 jet ski's and wet suits. We could keep our business clothes in our vehicles. We'd drive the jet ski's as fast as possible to an affordable dock. Then, get out, change, and go to work. I'm really buying into this. I've already rationalized buying 2 jet skis. This can't be wrong.
Maybe the island can be your weekend home.
Yeah let us know when Cindy buys into this elaborate plan.

YAY BRAD! Dude, that place is so money and you know it is going to go up in Value. Maybe you all could just run a Med-i-vac from the island. You learn how to fly, Cyndi is the in flight doc. You could have the jet skis for when she needs to attend to someone on the water while you prpe the chopper and get there.
